
Rachel Leackfeldt
Intern
Currently an MSW student at Oakland University, with anticipated graduation in May 2026, Rachel has one year of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in an outpatient therapy setting, including two months of experience in one-on-one therapy practice and group therapy. Her goal as a clinician is to provide a safe, welcoming, judgment-free space for individuals to feel supported and have their voices heard. She tailors sessions to meet clients' personal goals, needs, and interests. Rachel enjoys building relationships and helping clients recognize their unique tools and strengths to effect positive change in their lives. Having transitioned from a 15-year career in account management and customer service, Rachel can help navigate challenging life transitions.

Rachel draws from a range of therapeutic approaches, including Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic and Humanistic frameworks, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Trauma-Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing, to support clients in meaningful and effective ways.
In her free time, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, spending time in nature, listening to music, and watching TV and movies.
