Joe Lilly, LMSW
Founder, CEO, and Clinical Director
Joe Lilly is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with 20 years of experience in the mental health field. As the Founder and Clinical Director of Lillybrook Counseling Services, Joe's primary focus is on practice leadership, clinical supervision, and ensuring that every client receives the highest standard of care.

Joe obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with honors from the University of Michigan – Dearborn and a Master of Social Work Degree from Wayne State University. Throughout his extensive clinical career, Joe specialized in the treatment of anger, behavior disorders (such as ODD and ADHD), trauma, anxiety, and mood disorders. He utilized an eclectic approach founded in CBT, SFBT, and Family Systems, and was certified in both Anger Management and trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Today, Joe channels this extensive clinical background into owning and operating Lillybrook Counseling Services. He is deeply passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of therapists. By working directly with Lillybrook's clinicians to provide ongoing supervision, case consultation, and professional support, Joe continues to serve the community—ensuring his therapeutic philosophies and high standards are reflected in the care every Lillybrook client receives.

Joe has been a member of the National Association of Social Workers since 2007 and previously served as a Member-At-Large on the Executive Board of the Troy Community Coalition.
​
When not at work, Joe enjoys being a husband and father. He is an avid sports enthusiast and die-hard fan of the University of Michigan and Detroit Red Wings. Joe pours out his passion for football to the youth in the community through the Troy Cowboys football program both as a member of the board and as a coach. He also has an eclectic taste in music and enjoys playing the guitar.
