Kait graduated from Oakland University in 2023 with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and from Western Michigan University in 2019 with a BS in Psychology and Gender and Women's Studies.
She has always been passionate about LGBTQ+ issues, having written undergraduate honors thesis on the safety of LGBTQ+ students on Western Michigan University's campus, and so that has easily transitioned into a professional life as a mental health counselor serving the LGBTQ+ population. Kait also enjoys working with adolescents (12+), young adults, and adults who experience struggles associated with depression and anxiety, OCD, disordered eating and body image, life transitions, and identity exploration.
Kait tends to draw from an eclectic mix of evidence-based approaches, including a Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Feminist and Multicultural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness. Kait plans to learn more about Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to widen my scope.
When not in the office, Kait enjoys spending time with her husband, slowly losing hearing at rock and metal concerts, playing video games, walking around the neighborhood, and catching up on a (very large) stack of unread books.
